Perfect Replacement For Traditional CRT Projectors

                        LAS VEGAS, June 13, 2001, INFOCOMM, Booth #17054 —
                        SANYO Fisher Company's Presentation Technologies
Division, whose parent company is one of the world's
largest manufacturers of LCD projectors, today announced
the addition of the PLC-XP45 and PLC-XP40 to its family
of multimedia LCD projectors. Offering exceptional data
and video capability, these units are ideally suited for
                        any facility environment requiring presentation
precision and versatility and are the perfect
replacement for bulky, traditional CRT projectors.
                        Weighing less than 20
                        pounds, the PLC-XP45 and PLC-XP40 incorporate SANYO's
proprietary light engine and a 200-watt UHP lamp to
produce an impressive 3500 and 2600 ANSI lumens,
respectively. The units also boast an XGA native
resolution of 1024 x 768 and a solid contrast ratio of
800:1 and 500:1, correspondingly, producing crisp, clean
images up to 400 inches diagonally. The PLC-XP45 retails
for $12,995 (MSRP) while the PLC-XP40 is priced at
                        $8,995 (MSRP).
                        "SANYO's portable
projectors offer a complete presentation solution for a
variety of applications from conference rooms to
classrooms," said Mark Holt, senior sales manager,
SANYO Presentation Technologies. "Each unit offers
a rich feature set while a slight variance in brightness
distinguishes one from the other, providing our
customers with the option to choose the projector which
best fills their needs and budget requirements."
                        SANYO's newest portable
projectors are equipped with a variety of advanced
                        digital features, including:
                        • Digital Keystone
Correction: With a touch of a button, users can take
advantage of SANYO's digital keystone correction
feature, which automatically compensates for angled
                        projector placement, correcting trapezoidal images
                        directly on the screen.
                        • Digital Signal
                        Processing: Featuring pure digital processing
circuits, including digital progressive scanning, and
automatic color correction, the PLC-XP45 and PLC-XP40
reproduce vibrant images with accurate color and precise
                        details.
                        • 3D Digital
Progressive Scan: Using SANYO's original movement
algorithm, the proprietary 3D Digital Progressive Scan
system enhances both the vertical and diagonal
resolution of interlaced video images by continuously
monitoring each pixel with a dedicated processor.
                        • 3D Digital Noise
Reduction: Brightness noise and color noise are
treated separately through 3D Digital Noise Reduction to
enhance image quality. Signal interference is reduced
and image quality is further enhanced through 3D Digital
Y/C Separation, which separates the luminance and
                        chrominance signals.
                        In addition, the PLC-XP45
and PLC-XP40 can be twin stacked, resulting in a near
doubling of the image brightness. The units feature a
power lens shift function, which easily aligns the
images when twin stacking with virtually no geometric
                        distortion.
                        Furthermore, each
projector is HDTV compatible. Because both units feature
component and composite video inputs, they easily
connect to a variety of video sources such as VCRs,
camcorders, DVD players, digital cameras, and many other
devices. Also, the units are equipped with a
high-performance lens, which can be used in a variety of
settings, from small meeting rooms to large conference
halls. However, optional wide-zoom or long-zoom lenses
are available for added placement flexibility.
                        Moreover, the PLC-XP45
and PLC-XP40 incorporate a fan control system, which
constantly monitors the room temperature around the
projector. The fan speed is adjusted accordingly,
eliminating noisy bursts of fan activity and reducing
                        noise level to a minimum.
                        Each projector is backed
by a three-year parts and labor warranty as well as a
90-day warranty on the lamp and is available through
SANYO's national network of professional audiovisual
                        dealers.
